Thanks to the valiant efforts of Agent Whisky and a certain international woman of mystery, the Playa Security Agency will once again keep the citizens of Black Rock City secure with valuable Public Service Announcements broadcast by the city's radio stations.

Space Luau Party! Thursday @ 7pm

It’s clear we’re killing our planet.  Or at least it’s clear to hippies, environmental whackos, and those bastards at Halliburton.  So it’s time to plan for the future.  A future that’s properly discarded this nightmarish environmental crucible and embraced, well, the future.

The Playa Security Agency invites you to attend a Luau in Space, Thursday night at 7pm on the corner of 8:30 and Estuary. 

Sure, living on Earth can be scary, so why don’t you check out the alternative?

Neighborhood Watch Party! Tuesday @ 7pm

Do you know what your neighbors are up to?  Really, do you?  We didn’t think so.  Join the Playa Security Agency on Tuesday at 7pm for a Neighborhood Watch Party on the corner of 8:30 and Estuary.  Citizens living in surveillance corridor between 7:30 and 9:00 are especially encouraged to attend.  Mandatory DNA registration will be followed by a search for LMDs, liquids of mass destruction.

Agents: Read Our Leave No Trace Plan

A majority of those in our camp are veteran burners and we take Leave No Trace very seriously. In 2006 we were in the highest cleanup tier according to the BRC MOOP Map. We have designed camp to minimize playa impact and have a formal plan in place to ensure we LNT in 2007.

PREPARATIONS

• Before we leave for the playa all campers will have discarded unneeded packaging to minimize potential trash. 
• All campers will bring adequate storage for trash (closeable cans, recycling storage, lots of trash bags) as well as gloves. 
•  We will have multiple brooms and dustpans in camp.
• Virgin burners will be required to read available documents on the Leave No Trace ethic and strategies for success.

MINIMIZING PLAYA IMPACT 

• The camp plan is designed to shelter the most trafficked areas from the prevailing wind, hopefully minimizing the potential for MOOP to blow out of our camp.
• Our primary power source is a wind turbine, eliminating generator noise and emissions.
•  We are eliminating evaporation ponds and there attendant mess—instead we’re filtering and testing our shower water.
• All campers have been coached to keep belongings in closeable storage containers (like Tupperware bins) to make sure that everything “has its place” and nothing is left lying around to become MOOP.
• The public and private shade areas will be carpeted or covered with a tarp to minimize the amount of MOOP which might disappear into the playa. 
• Garbage, burnables, and recycling will be stored separately in closeable containers secured to each campsite

LEAVING NO TRACE

• All camp members are required to assist with our formal takedown and cleanup which will begin on Sunday morning—we want to make sure that early departures participate in LNT

Agents Ready to Make BRC Secure in 2007

Committees have been meeting, our email list is on fire, and the fine agents of the Playa Security Agency are geared up for another series of important and ridiculous missions in Black Rock City.  Population of the compound has been capped at 65 and our official theme camp application will be submitted shortly.
