Nice. One of those projects on my list that I will never get to . . . a compendium of links to web locales that help you do things. Excellent. [via, I think, MeFi]
Ariel is the mastermind behind a Seattle version of an event that's been popping up across the country: The Salon of Shame.
Put next Wednesday night on your calendar when:
"A half dozen Seattle writers will stand before you and read their most
shameful journal passages. Excruciating tales of heartbreak! Agonizing
descriptions of early drug experiences! Teen perspectives on world
politics! It's all here, served on a verbal platter for you to drink up
and enjoy."
I might just attend. And it's certainly got me interested in dusting off my journals to see what demons might lurk betwen their pages.
I wake up looking like hell and discover that before I can even get a cup of coffee, T has uploaded snaps of last night's fabulous party. Complete with explanatory text. This probably represents 60% of the costumed fools in attendance. I want a complete set so post your pix (I took, uh, none)!
I didn't think that Napoleon Dynamite was that funny; it was mediocre. I've been perplexed by its popularity. It was like a closet filled with ready-to-wear memes and little else.
So I like this literally ready-to-wear counter-meme. [via]
