I'm happy to report that for over three weeks I've been dodging RSS feeds. Haven't seen a single one. I'm sure I'll return to the fold in a measured way, but after going off the grid for awhile I've made a point of not immersing myself in information.
Despite not being fully jacked in it still seems like I'm living in some proto-Snow Crash world. Apparently Wells Fargo just bought an island in Second Life and there is a plague running wild in Worlds of Warcraft. WTF?
Metafilter is kind of like a meta-rss feed, isn't it? Kind of? I mean, it's not like you're off the grid or anything, you're just doing methadone instead of heroin.
That said, thanks for the WoW link, that's awesome. In a strange way stuff likes this shores up my belief that life can emerge in the similar ways in different places. Maybe the disease of political nonsense that's infected our world would have happened even if we'd sufficiently evolved on Mars... or in a game.
