This Corrupt and Evil Regime is Finally Getting a Bit of What it Deserves

You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.  But damn, you can sure fool a lot of the people for a very long time if you're George Bush and the Republican party.  But it looks like they are finally--finally!--beginning to reap what they've sowed.

I don't usually blog politics because it's seldom joygantic.  But I was going to blog a list of all the various ways that things appear to be finally--finally!--going sideways for the lying, manipulative, insincere--and yes, evil--idealogues who currently hold the reins of power.  But then I saw that 3 Pecks on the Nose already had produced the list. She and The Tin Foil Hat also kindly pointed me to Daily Kos' wonderful, nasty rant  aimed at those whining about Tom Delay's indictment.

Things are absolutely awesome here in SF--and that's not a level of enthusiasm I'd typically offer for a tradeshow.  But then again, I've never before been in such an ass kicking situation; someone please pinch me.

Two Great Articles on, uh, Burning Man

After reading Nancy's mash note to our Burning Man camp I got all squishy inside and remembered that one of my post-Burn to-dos was to email a photographer from the Toronto Star who took some pictures of our re-wedding ceremony.

I though I should actual check out what he and his writer colleague wrote about the event before I emailed him and boy did the two of them do a good job.  Most journalism about Burning Man falls short of giving a sense of the place, but these two newbies did a great job.

I shouldn't bag on a state I know little about, but given that I'm in Texas at the moment this news items sums up my sense of the place. (At least until I get a chance to visit Austin).

Weird is the World

I'm happy to report that for over three weeks I've been dodging RSS feeds.  Haven't seen a single one.  I'm sure I'll return to the fold in a measured way, but after going off the grid for awhile I've made a point of not immersing myself in information.

Despite not being fully jacked in it still seems like I'm living in some proto-Snow Crash world.  Apparently Wells Fargo just bought an island in Second Life and there is a plague running wild in Worlds of Warcraft.  WTF?
